Debbie Dujanovic reportingInoke Vihami was named Sandy's public enemy number 1 following a home invasion robbery in which he held a man at knifepoint.

Yesterday afternoon police got a call concerning Vihami's whereabouts.

According to the Department of Probation and Parole, Vihami was hiding in a home in Sandy. Police and SWAT teams surrounded the house shortly before 5pm. And just before midnight officers went into the house.

Sgt. Michelle Burnett/ Sandy Police Dept.: "EVENTUALLY WE WERE ABLE TO SEARCH THROUGH THE HOME -- DID NOT LOCATE THE SUSPECT."

Two other men were taken into custody shortly after the police arrived at the home. They were wanted for parole violations and outstanding warrants.

Residents in nearby homes were evacuated during the search -- they are back in their homes this morning.

Police say that though they did not find the man they were looking for last night, they do not feel that the man power was wasted.

Sgt. Michelle Burnett/ Sandy Police Dept.: "THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES -- WE STILL CONSIDER HIM ARMED AND DANGEROUS."

Vihami is also wanted on a warrant out of West Valley City. If you have any information on his whereabouts you are asked to call police.
