(Layton-AP) -- Utah Power and Light blames the hot weather for a four-hour power outage affecting more than seven-thousand, 300 people.
Utah Power spokesman Dave Eskelsen says the power demands caused a temporary mobile substation to overload around 5:15 p.m.
Customers in east and central Layton, South Weber and Uintah were affected by the power outage.
Within the next two weeks, Utah Power hopes to increase the power lines between Riverdale and east Layton from 46 thousand to 138 thousand volts.
A similar power outage caused by the failure of an overloaded temporary substation occurred Saturday in the Layton area.
