SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Police have identified the three people shot to death while sitting in an idling SUV at a convenience store.

Aristeo Torres, 30, Juan Alberto Ruiz, 40, and Lorie Roberta Gurule, 22, were killed early Saturday morning near the Utah Fairpark.

Salt Lake City Police Capt. Mark Peck said investigators still have no suspects and no motive for the shooting.

Peck said all three victims lived in the Salt Lake Valley. They had left a party about 30 minutes before the shootings. None had any significant police record.

"It's a complex case," Peck said.

The car was backed into a parking space at the convenience store in west Salt Lake City at 3 a.m. Saturday when witnesses reported hearing between three and seven shots. When officers arrived minutes later, the SUV's engine was still running.

Witnesses told police they saw a white sedan, possibly a Camaro, drive away quickly. But Peck said there's no indication whether anyone in the car was involved.

"It may just have been someone saying, 'I'm getting the heck out of here,' " he said.
