(KSL News) -- As expected, a government panel has officially exorcised the Devil from a highway in the Four Corners Area.

Actually, they just changed the highway number.

Some say "666 "is the sign of the Devil.

So highway 666 has been known as the Devil's Highway since the 1920's. The road runs from Monticello, Utah to Gallup, New Mexico.

At a meeting in Kentucky this weekend, the number was officially changed by AASHTO, the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials.

The Devil's Highway will now be just plain-old Highway 491.
