SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah's first large wildfire of the season burned 1,700 acres about 20 miles southwest of Hanksville Thursday.

The fire started Friday evening when lightning struck near the Lonesome Beaver Campground in the Henry Mountains.

About 200 people were assigned to fight the fire, including five engines and two helicopters, the Bureau of Land Management said.

Crews worked to protect nearby cabins, a campground and an electronic site. Some area roads were closed.
