MOAB, Utah (AP) -- A Utah man has died after losing control of his pickup truck on an icy road and plunging into the Colorado River.
The Utah Highway Patrol says 47-year-old Edward W. Fischer of Moab was westbound on state Route 128 Monday night when his truck hit a patch of ice.
The truck went off the road and rolled down a 50-foot embankment into the river.
Troopers say Fischer was taken by ambulance to Allen Memorial Hospital in Moab, where he died shortly after arrival.
