(Pittsburgh-AP) -- Former political strategist Joseph Waldholtz was on trial today in Pittsburgh, accused of stealing from his stepmother and his brother.
Thirty-nine-year-old Waldholtz is the ex-husband of former Utah congresswoman Enid Greene.
The non-jury trial resumed after being postponed since late January because a witness was unavailable. Waldholtz is accused of taking more than 30-thousand dollars from his relatives.
At the time, Waldholtz was on probation for previous legal troubles that forced Greene to abandon her re-election hopes.
Waldholtz pleaded guilty in 1996 to writing more than two (M) million dollars in bad checks and illegally funneling one-point-eight (M)million from Greene's father into his wife's campaign account.
He served nearly two years in a federal prison for that crime.
