(Centerville-AP) -- Centerville police think they've caught their man in a series of arsons. The fire included a rash of five withing half an hour on Monday.

Forty-four-year-old Mark Joseph Williams appeared in 2nd District Court on Wednesday. He faces felony and misdemeanor drug charges as well as a misdemeanor count of reckless burning.

Centerville police spokesman Paul Child says Williams was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs. Officers found evidence potentially linking him to an intentionally set fire in North Salt Lake.

Williams was arrested in August 2001 for setting three fires, Child said, but police believe he was responsible for up to 100 fires throughout the summer. Prosecutors charged him with reckless burning, but as part of a plea bargain those charges were dropped.
