(St. George-AP) -- Utah Congressman Jim Matheson is trying to free up federal money for a dinosaur museum in southern Utah.
A law passed last year with the help of former Congressman Jim Hansen authorized 500-thousand dollars for the protection of fossilized dinosaur tracks found near St. George. But the Interior Department said they believed the money was supposed to be used only for buying the land -- and the city of St. George had already purchased the land from a private owner.
So now Matheson is introducing legislation that would clear up the issue and allow the money to be used for developing and protecting the 200-million-year-old tracks with a museum.
