(KSL TV) A grass fire that engulfed several acres in North Salt Lake last night is being called suspicious.
Fire crews were called out shortly before 11 pm to 12th North and Beck Street.
There they found flames racing up the side of the hill and coming dangerously close to propane tanks stored at the bottom.
Just before the fire, three people were seen driving away from the point of origin. That, and the lack of natural causes for the fire, leads officials to believe it was started by humans.
The position of the fire made it difficult to fight. Crews at the top and bottom of the hill dug fire lines to stop the flames.
No structures were threatened by the fire and no one was injured.
