SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Avalanche Center is warning of dangerous avalanche conditions this weekend.

The center says anywhere from one-and-a-half feet to two-and-a-half feet of snow is expected along with strong winds that will overload the fragile snow in upper elevations.

The most dangerous mountain conditions are expected from Saturday night into Monday morning.

The center says it would be a good weekend to avoid backcountry terrain and stay on groomed trails or within resort boundaries.
