(Beaver, Utah-AP) -- A Colorado man is in custody after a bank robbery this morning in the southwestern Utah town of Beaver.
Authorities say the man entered a Wells Fargo branch just after it opened and fled with what was called a significant amount of money.
The suspect got in a vehicle and reached Interstate 15. He then exited a dirt road where it's believed he disposed of his gun, changed his clothes and burned the clothes he'd been wearing.
A Utah Highway Patrol helicopter returning from a search spotted the suspect's vehicle on the interstate. The man's car was stopped by spikes just north of Cove Fort after a chase that at times approached 100 miles per hour.
