LOS ANGELES -- The Utah Jazz play the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday and Saturday and a familiar voice will be part of the games.

Former Jazz play-by-play legend "Hot Rod" Hundley will provide color commentary for the games. That means he will be back in Salt Lake City Saturday night doing TV commentary for the Lakers.

Regular Lakers play-by-play man Stu Lantz will miss the next six games while his wife recovers from surgery.

The opportunity for Hundley returns him to his roots. Hundley starred for the Lakers as a player and broke into TV game commentary alongside the late Hall-of-Famer Chick Hearn.

Hundley then joined the Phoenix Suns broadcast team before earning legendary status doing Jazz play-by-play in New Orleans and Salt Lake City for 31 years before retiring last spring.
