(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Salt Lake City Police Chief Rick Dinse is scheduled to receive an award today for supporting his officers who serve in the armed forces.

The National Committee for Employee Support of Guard and Reserves is giving the honor. They're recognizing the police chief's support for his employees who have been called to active duty in recent years.

Presenting the award is Sergeant First Class Steve Wooldridge of the Utah Army National Guard. Wooldridge is also a sergeant on the Salt Lake police force.

But Wooldridge hasn't been spending much time in police blues lately. He's getting ready to go on his third military deployment in the past year and a half.
