(KSL News) -- A five hour standoff in West Valley City overnight forced the evacuation of more than a dozen residents, and ended with the suspect shooting himself.
It began around midnight at 4229 S. Lockwood Dr., West Valley City after some sort of domestic dispute. Neighbors heard gunshots and called police.
Police evacuated nearby homes as a precaution.
After five hours and several more gunshots, the suspect shot himself in the hip, apparently accidentally. He was flown to the hospital.
