(St. George-AP) -- SkyWest Airlines is expanding. The airlines announced today it's ordering 30 70-seat regional jets for their United Express operations.

Some will be ready to go as early as this January and delivery of the aircraft will continue through May of 2005.

The company also has plans to buy up to 80 more aircraft for between June 2005 and September 2008.

SkyWest says the expansion is in response to the growing market demand.

The St. George-based carrier operates as United Express, Delta Connection and Continental Connection. It serves 103-cities in 28-states and two Canadian provinces.
