SANDY -- Sandy police are searching for a man who robbed a Walgreens pharmacy Monday night.

Police say he entered the store at 2090 E. 9400 South around 8 p.m. and walked straight to the pharmacy counter. There, the robber demanded the pharmacist give him OxyContin and motioned as though he was carrying a gun.

The pharmacist gave him some painkillers, and the man walked out.

Police canines searched for him but lost his trail in a strip mall just north of the pharmacy.

Detectives describe the robber as a man in his 20s, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall with a medium build, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and orange gloves.
