(Provo-AP) -- The man convicted of beating his girlfriend to death, then stuffing her body under the bed will be sentenced today.

40-year old John Pete Vinanti was convicted of first degree murder back in August.

During the trial Vinanti testified he loved his girlfriend and had no memory of her dying when he beat her after getting drunk in September 2002.

45-year-old Brenda Lee Lundell died of blunt injuries to her head.

Prosecutors say she may still have been alive when Vinanti wrapped her body in a blanket and shoved it underneath their bed.
