(KSL News) A 19-year-old man is recovering this morning after falling 60 feet off a mountain.
The man was repelling by the "B" in Bountiful last night with friends and family when his equipment apparently malfunctioned.
Lt. Lane Price/ Bountiful Fire Department: "This young man was repelling off about a 60 to 80 foot rock face. His webbing at the top of his anchor had come untied. He fell approximately 60 feet to the ground, all the way to the bottom."
Rescue workers say it appears he fell on his back. He had to be airlifted to the hospital with several injuries.
They also say the man was conscious the entire time, even talking to rescue workers as they tried to get him out of the mountains.
His vital signs are said to be good this morning and he should be okay.
