WEST HAVEN -- The body of a missing Hooper woman was discovered in a West Haven field early Sunday morning.
Weber County sheriff's deputies received a report of a body being found near 3100 West and 4000 South just before 12:30 a.m.
Deputies said the body matched the description of 51-year-old Katherine Doutre, who had been missing for over a month. The body showed signs of decomposition that suggested she died several days ago.
Doutre was last seen by her husband on the morning of Oct. 30.
He said she was upset and had been known to disappear for several hours at a time to gain composure. He became concerned when she didn't return home after an entire day and didn't take a car or her wallet with her.
Doutre's disappearance prompted several searches involving friends, neighbors, deputies and Weber County Search and Rescue volunteers. All of those searches were unsuccessful.
Deputies said the field where the body was found had been searched shortly after Doutre's disappearance. They also said they received several credible reports from people who said they saw her alive days after her disappearance.
An autopsy is being done to determine the cause of death. Deputies said they would investigate it as a suspicious death until further information became available.
