(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Salt Lake City police identify the man stabbed to death in a botched drug deal as 24-year old Juan Jose Carrillo Mendoza.
Police say 37-year old Ernie Marquez stabbed Mendoza to death Saturday.
A customer at a coin-operated laundry facility found Mendoza bleeding on the sidewalk. The customer called nine-one-one and administered C-P-R until the ambulance arrived.
Mendoza died at the hospital.
Officers followed a trail of blood to Marquez' residence, where they believe the victim was stabbed.
Marquez was arrested based on evidence at the scene and after police questioned him. Police say Mendoza went to Marquez' apartment to sell him drugs, and Marquez robbed and stabbed him. Mendoza was a Mexican National who had been in Utah about three months.
