Karen Scullin ReportingOgden's Jodee Stott's sense of humor is throwing a little fun into the Today Show talent contest. Out of six-thousand candidates, Jodee is one of eight finalists.

News specialist Karen Scullin checked in with Jodee's family today, who, as you might expect are cheering her on from their Utah living rooms. Jodee Stott's family says they always knew something like this would happen. In fact it was Jodee's mom who encouraged her to send a tape in at the last minute.

Family members are tending Jodee's kids while she and her husband are in the Big Apple, and encouraging friends to vote for her online, and staying close to the TV. Jodee's cousin says on TV or on any regular day, Jodee is pure fun with no put-ons.

Sharlyn Ereckson, Cousin: "What you see on TV is what Jodee's personality is. There is no putting on a show. I mean, that is Jodee. She's always been like that. In fact, her dad calls her a blonde in dark hair."

Monday morning at about 8:30, Jodee will be singing "If You Don't Know Me By Now", which her family says she'll do very well with.

Singer contestants are chosen by online voting by the television audience. Voting will be available Monday.
