SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Two people who helped finger the same man for separate robberies at the same bank will get $2,000 cash rewards from the financial institution.

One of them is a cab driver that shuttled the man to and from a U.S. Bank branch Nov. 12 to commit the robbery, Salt Lake County Deputy Sheriff Peggy Faulkner said.

The cabbie gave police information that eventually helped them develop a suspect profile, she said.

Five months later, Faulkner said the same man again robbed the U.S. Bank branch. Information from another witness let police link him back to the first suspect.

Steven Early has been charged in federal court in the two bank robberies.

Faulkner said these are examples of how the public can assist law enforcement.

"We can't promise you will all get a check, but you will always get our appreciation," she said.
