(West Valley City-AP) -- The foster mother of an 18-month old who died under her care is charged with killing the baby.
Police charged 30-year old Jeannette Gomez with criminal homicide and child abuse yesterday.
Investigators say Gomez was frustrated when the child wouldn't stop crying. They say she threw or dropped the child twice and shook him.
The district attorney says the number of blunt force trauma injuries the baby received indicates he was harmed more than twice and that a great deal of frustration was taken out on the child.
The boy died October 22. He was taken to the hospital because he wasn't breathing. Gomez told police the boy fell out of his crib.
Bail was set at one (m) million dollars.
