(West Valley City-AP) -- An elderly couple found dead in an apparent murder-suicide is identified as 71-year old Robert Pack and his 54-year old wife Shelly.

Their bodies were found Wednesday night by police after relatives called them saying they hadn't heard from the couple in almost a week.

Police say it appears to be a murder-suicide, but the couple has no history of domestic violence.

They also say besides the gunshot wounds, there are no other injuries or signs of struggle.

Pack's brother Richard says deteriorating health and the recent closing of his business after 35-years might have contributed.

But he says the pair's 27-year marriage was filled with love and devotion.
