(Salt Lake City-AP) -- A 24-year old man is in the Salt Lake County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping.
Police say the man accosted the woman and her three year old son outside their apartment Saturday. He forced her to drive to a home in the Rose Park area where police say he tried to sexually assault her.
The little boy tried to help his mother, but was pushed away by the man.
The woman and her son fled, but the suspect caught up with them at the car. The three drove to a convenience store where the woman called a neighbor who alerted police. Police arrived shortly after they got back to the apartment complex and arrested the man.
The woman has minor injuries. Police say she knew the man through neighbors, but the two did not have a relationship.
