The latest college basketball rankings show BYU continuing to garner the most Top 25 votes among MWC teams. The 3-0 Cougars are up two spots to 30th in the latest Coaches' Poll, and down a spot to 38th in the AP.
The data is sparse to this point in the season, but Jerry Palm (collegerpi.com) has BYU 23rd in RPI; UNLV is currently 1st.
BYU is home to 0-3 Southern tomorrow night at the Marriott Center; 6:00pm pregame and 7:00pm tip on KSL Newsradio.

BYU TE Dennis Pitta has made the final cut for the most perstigious award at his position. This news came out earlier today:
Manhasset, N.Y. (November 23, 2009) - The Nassau County Sports Commission (NCSC) has announced three finalists for the 2009 John Mackey Award. Listed alphabetically, they are Dorin Dickerson (SR, Pittsburgh), Aaron Hernandez (JR, Florida) and Dennis Pitta (SR, BYU).
The three finalists were determined by confidential balloting of the John Mackey Selection Committee. The 2009 recipient of "The Mackey" will be announced at the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show live December 10, 2009 on ESPN.
