(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Federal immigration agents are moving to deport 13 sex offenders after a roundup this week in northern Utah.

Most of them have been living in Utah as permanent residents.

Investigators used sexual offender databases to identify immigrants who've committed sex crimes that can subject them to deportation.

Immigration official say the 13 offenders had convictions for sex offenses in the United States going back to 1994.

Eight of the offenders were arrested in the Salt Lake metropolitan area, three in Ogden and two in Heber City.
