(KSL News) -- Police have identified the man whose body was discovered in Big Cottonwood Canyon yesterday.
A hiker found the body, laying face down in a stream near the Dogwood campground.
Dental records confirm the remains are that of 46-year old Richard J. Stephens, who has been missing since September 24th. He was last seen leaving his apartment the previous morning.
Rescue teams searched the area because it appeared that Stephens had not taken his medications.
Police are not releasing the cause of Stephens' death, but say the case is NOT being investigated as a homicide.
