(Salt Lake City-AP) -- A Salt Lake City man is accused of holding a woman against her will for two months.

The man was charged last week with three counts of kidnapping.

The victim tells police that her alleged abductor threatened to kill her if she left.

Police went to the residence, near 600 South and 1300 West, after the victim's mother reported her daughter was being held against her will.

The man allegedly told police he had slapped the woman once and added, -- quote -- "She needs to learn to respect me."
