(KSL News)--As of today, the State Health Department is releasing its 2004 healthy resolutions for the young and the old.
In view of what's happened with infectious disease outbreaks in 2003, at the top of the list are the following recommendations:
Stay immunized against the flu, tetanus, hepatitis and pneumonia.
Always wear a seatbelt in a vehicle and make sure your children do the same.
Wear a helmet for biking, boarding, scooting and blading.
Get screened for cancer, high blood pressure and cholesterol.
Focus your eating in the new year on fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean sources of protein.
Walk, bike, jog, row, swim, lift and play. Just move your body everyday.
Avoid all tobacco. Don't smoke, chew or sniff it.
And balance work and play. Don't let work rule your life. Learn how to better handle stress.
