(Ogden-AP) -- There's new information about a robbery suspect killed in a shootout with Roy police Sunday night.
Police say 30-year old Robert Apodaca of West Valley City had a long criminal history.
He was shot to death by police Sunday night after leading them on a chase Sunday following at least one robbery and a car theft. When police cornered Apodaca, he fired shots and police returned fire, killing him. One officer was shot in the leg and was hospitalized.
Apodaca's criminal history includes a conviction in 2002 for aggravated robbery. Former charges against him range from aggravated kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a restricted person to cruelty to animals.
Apodaca also had an outstanding warrant at the time of the shooting.
