(Salt Lake City-AP) -- New flu numbers are out today for Utah.

There have been 56-hundred 40 reported cases of influenza in the state this season. That's up about three-hundred from last week.

Just over two-hundred of these cases had to be hospitalized. And there have been NO more flu-related deaths. The tally of deaths remains at seven. One of them is a pediatric patient and six are adults.

The Utah Office of Epidemiology also says there were fewer students absent in the week ending December 20 than the previous week. But says the numbers are still more than this time last year.
