(Provo-AP) -- A former Utah County sheriff's deputy is looking at 12-years to life behind bars for molesting two boys.

Sean Davis was sentenced yesterday. He pleaded guilty in October to four counts of first-degree felony attempted sodomy on a child.

Authorities began investigating Davis this summer after getting a tip during an unrelated case about possible sexual misconduct involving children.

The sheriff's office placed Davis on unpaid leave. He resigned in August after nine years with the sheriff's office and 16 years in law enforcement.

Davis pleaded guilty to molesting two boys ages 10 and 11 more than a decade ago.

He admitted to other cases, but will not be charged for those under the plea agreement.
