UTAH COUNTY -- The Utah County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a homeowner was killed Monday night when his Utah County home was invaded by two armed men.

It happened just around 7 p.m. at a home near 11600 South Canyon Road. The home is located in between Payson and Elk Ridge.

Sheriff's Lt. Darren Gilbert said right now, they really don't have that much to go on.

"Right now we have an active investigation. It's a homicide investigation going on. The only report that we have of possible suspects is a blue hatchback that was seen leaving the location," Gilbert said. "We're looking [at] all avenues of this incident and doing what we can to find suspects and locate next of kin."

Deputies have set up a road block at the mouth of Payson Canyon to keep people away from the crime scene.

Though, deputies are actively looking for possible suspects, Gilbert said he didn't think people in the area are in any danger.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.
