(KSL News) A fire breaks out at downtown Salt Lake City Hotel.

The fire started in a banquet room of the downtown Marriott on State Street. The room was being set up for an event later today when some skirting caught fire.

The fire spread to the carpet, several tablecloths and napkins. The hotel's engineer put the fire out within minutes.

No one was injured and only a few rooms were evacuated.

Hotel management is estimating about $1500 worth of damage.

The buildings is being aired out and investigators will try to determine just what caused the fire.
