(KSL News)--Police say the two-alarm fire that destroyed a home in West Jordan this morning was arson.
When crews arrived at the home at 8500 S. 2200 W., just before 5:00, smoke was pouring out the front windows and more firefighters were called out.
Fire officials say it appears the blaze started in the basement.
Brad Wardle, West Jordan Fire Dept.: "The home is basically a complete loss from the fire itself. We had crews upon the fire immediately, but the fire was just, it basically extended itself for us to fight it from the outside."
The house was under construction and no one was inside at the time.
Damage is estimated at over $200,000.
