SANDY, Utah (AP / KSL News) -- A 6-week-old baby who was in a car when it was stolen Wednesday night was found safe in the car at Jordan Commons, Sandy police said.
Katie Whitney, Mother: "Everyone, we're so blessed to have our baby back."
Officers said the car with the baby inside had been left in a driveway while the mother ducked into the house about 7 p.m.
While the mother was inside, the car was stolen.
When asked how fast it happenned, mother Katie Whitney responded, "Instant, I mean I was not in the house longer than a minute, I mean and he had to turn my car on...my car wasn't running, he had to turn on my car and he had to go...and just running in the house quick to get something."
The car was found, with the baby asleep in the car seat, within about an hour.
