(Salt Lake City-AP) -- The wife of former governor Calvin Rampton has died.
The Rampton family says Lucybeth Rampton died Friday at St. Mark's hospital because of heart failure. She was 89. Her husband was by her side.
Calvin Rampton remains Utah's longest-serving governor, holding office from 1965-77.
Mrs. Rampton was also a popular figure in the state, noted as a motivating force in the advancement of the arts, the preservation of Utah's pioneer heritage and an advocate for the mentally disabled and mentally ill.
Her son says she coped with clinical depression for years and wanted to help others.
Mrs. Rampton is survived by her husband and three children.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park and Mortuary in Salt Lake City.
