OGDEN, Utah (AP) -- Bellarion Ancira has been sentenced to five years to life in prison for the shaken-baby death of his girlfriend's 11-month-old son.

Ancira, 21, pleaded guilty to the murder charge last month.

He originally claimed the baby, Jacob Best, died accidentally on July 16, 2002, in Washington Terrace. Medical testimony pointed to shaken-baby syndrome and a beating.

Ancira now takes full responsibility for the death, according to his attorney.
