(KSL News) -- The sentencing phase began today for Cody Nielsen, who was found guilty of capital murder in the death of a 15-year old Cache County girl.
Today's death penalty trial was delayed several hours. First Nielsen refused to come to court, afraid to face his sentence.
Then his father suffered either a heart attack or a stress attack in the courtroom and was taken away by an ambulance.
Once the trial began, prosecutors made their case for why Nielsen should be executed. The defense will present their case tomorrow.
