SALT LAKE COUNTY -- Lane changes on I-15 could cause some confusion for drivers this weekend. It's part of work being done on the new 11400 South interchange.

The lane shifts will only affect drivers heading south on I-15 around the 10600 South exit.

Traffic will be split around the paving work zone with four lanes on the west side and the HOV lane on the east side of the barrier.

**11400 South Improvements**
• A new I-15 interchange at 11400 South • New merging lanes on I-15 between 10600 and 12300 South • A widened 11400 South between State Street and Bangerter Highway • A new east-west connection on 11400 South between 700 West and 1300 West • A new bridge and pedestrian crossing over the Jordan River • A new bridge over Union Pacific Railroad tracks Project completion is anticipated for late fall 2010 - *UDOT*
Motorists in the HOV lane will not be able to exit between 10600 South and Bangerter Highway, so if you want to get off at 12300 South, you'll have to get out of that lane at 106th South.

The split begins Saturday at 10pm through Sunday morning. If the weather is bad, the split will move to Sunday evening through Monday morning.

UDOT resident engineer Marwan Farah says, "Our goal is to have this configuration completed prior to the Monday traffic commute."

UDOT will close the 12300 South off-ramp, the 10600 South on-ramp and two lanes between 10600 South and 12300 South.

This split is part of the continuing work on the new 114th South interchange, which is designed to improve east-west travel.

Work on the interchange requires concrete paving in the southbound lanes. Lane travel should be back to normal by December.
