(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Salt Lake County Sheriff's deputies have identified a man whose body was found floating in the Jordan River last month.
The man was identified as 62-year-old Jerry Palensky. Authorities believe he was beaten to death and his body had been in the water for more than 24-hours before it was found.
Palensky's body was spotted by a bird watcher January 14 and was recovered later by a dive team.
Palensky most recently lived in Elko, Nevada. He also has listed previous Utah addresses of Price and Scofield. Anyone with information is asked to call the Salt Lake County Sheriff's office.
