(Riverton-AP) -- Crews worked throughout the night to restore water to Riverton residents.

Water shot eight to ten feet in the air when a water main broke around seven-thirty last night. The break left business owners and residents either without water or with low pressure for several hours.

Crews isolated the break within the hour of receiving the first call. The valves to the broken pipe segment were shut off and water was redirected.

Police say construction where a road is being widened led to the spill.

Only a few customers close to the break were still affected late last night.

Crews hope to have them restored a soon as possible.
