Sandra Yi reporting For the second time this week, a man tried to lure a child into his car.

The first case happened Wednesday in Roy. Friday, two young children were approached in Syracuse. Police believe the two cases are likely related.

The two kids were walking past Syracuse Junior High School Friday afternoon. They say a strange man approached in what appears to be an attempted kidnapping.

Aleeca Childs is a proud and relieved parent.

Aleeca Childs/ Parent: "It's really frightening. I don't think they overreacted at all. I'm glad they did what they did."

Eight-year-old Mikaela and her seven-year-old brother Jesse were walking home after school today with a group of friends. But they turned around because Mikaela forgot her backpack.

As the two headed home again alone, a suspicious stranger approached them in front of the junior high school.

Mikaela Childs: "I was just walking and then I saw this guy pull up and roll down his window and ask me if I would come over there if he gave me candy or something. We just ran directly to the school and it just scared me so bad."

The school called the police.

Mikaela and Jesse were able to give them a description of the man and the vehicle he was in.

Tonight Childs is just grateful her kids remembered her advice about strangers.

Mikaela Childs: "She tells you, don't even aswer them and go somewhere where there's a lot of people."

Aleeca Childs: "It's very frightening to think I could have been sitting around today, watching the clock and saying, 'Where are my children?'"

The kids told police the man was driving a green Suburban. They say he had dark hair and a beard. That description is similar to the one an 11-year-old girl in nearby Roy gave police on Wednesday.

In that case, the girl told police the man tried to lure her with money and clothes but she ran to school and told an adult.
