Before Alta and Bingham began dominating 5A, Davis and Hunter enjoyed winning state titles. The Wolverines, led by Rey Feinga, won it all in 2003 while the Darts, led by Bryan Kariya took home a state title in 2004. One of these two teams will get another chance to win a state championship. Both teams are region champions and both teams feature a powerful running attack and a stout defense. Davis Running back Tanner Hinds has had a spectacular senior season. He leads 5A in rushing with 1,700 yards and 21 touchdowns.The Wolverines feature running back La'au Tanuvasa who has rushed for more than 1,000 yards and 16 touchdowns while sharing the ball with some talented teammates. Tevita Bloomfield and Ekuasi Tavo each have 6 rushing touchdowns making the Wolverines rushing attack tough to slow down. Davis has the best scoring defense in 5A allowing just 10 points per game. You can expect both teams to grind this one out on the ground Friday night at Rice-Eccles stadium.
