(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff says "the check is in the mail" -- finally.

The more than 28-thousand Utah residents who filed a claim last year will get checks for 13-dollars and 86 cents in the next few weeks as part of the settlement involving overpricing by big music companies.

Utah is one of 42 states that sued five large music distributors and three large retailers for conspiring to hike their prices.

The defendants agreed in September to change their sales practices and pay 67 (m) million dollars in cash and distribute more than 77 (m) million dollars worth of C-Ds to charities and libraries.

Fifty-nine Utah public and university libraries will get more than 43-thousand compact disks out of the settlement this spring.
