(KSL News) A child's toy causes panic overnight in downtown Salt Lake.
Officers were called to the corner of 200 South and 900 West shortly before 10pm on reports of a live hand grenade placed underneath the freeway overpass.
The bomb squad was called out and the street sealed off while the risk was assessed. But a closer look revealed there was no danger.
The grenade was in fact made of hard plastic.
Police do not know if the toy was placed on the street on purpose. They will be investigating due to the large number of resources used during the call.
