(KSL News) Snowy weather may have played a part in an Avenues house fire last night.
Someone called fire crews to the home at 274 N. K Street, saying there were some power lines down. When crews got to the home, they saw fire in the back area of the house where the lines go in, and in the basement.
Dennis McKone/ Salt Lake City Fire Dept.: "I would say that the lines going through the trees with this heavy snow, something happened to the power lines and they dropped, probably sent a quick surge through the house."
Everyone inside got out safely. Damage estimates are around $15,000.
