(KSL News) A four car crash shut down part of Interstate 15 Sunday afternoon.

Utah Highway Patrol troopers say a blue car was going too fast for the conditions and lost control.

It went across the median into the northbound lanes and was hit by two semi trucks. The car's driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

A red SUV that tried to avoid hitting the car also lost control, went off the road, and ended up in some water.

Six people inside were also taken to the hospital, with more minor injuries.
